Each team must create two screen recordings corresponding to the two computers used by the contestants, as well as one video recording of the environment in which the competition takes place, during the entire contest session.
The recordings must clearly allow the identification of all the actions performed by the team. A visible clock must be present in the room in order to monitor the timeline of the competition, and it must remain visible in the video recordings at all times.
Immediately after the contest, the team has to upload all three recordings. The recordings must be uploaded using a method that guarantees accessibility until the final contest results are officially announced.
Examples of accepted upload methods:
- Unlisted upload on YouTube
- Upload to a cloud drive service
- Any other cloud-based storage solution
Examples of methods that are NOT accepted:
- Sending links via WeTransfer
- Using any service that requires the committee to download and locally store the recordings after the expiration period during which the video files remain accessible
Teams must send the access links for the recordings to the committee within a MAXIMUM of 3 hours after the end of the competition.
The technical setup required for recording, as well as the responsibility for creating the recordings, lies entirely with the contestants.
Regardless of the method used to upload the recordings, all recording links must be sent to the official committee email address, comisieiiot@gmail.com, in a single email with the subject line:
Team Recordings (name_team) and must follow all the requirements.
For example, if a team is named TEAM2026, the email Subject must be:
Team Recordings TEAM2026
IMPORTANT!!!
Failure to comply with the requirements specified above will render the submitted recordings invalid, and the committee will CANCEL the score obtained by the team.
Recommendations for Recording Setup:
- Use MKV format for screen recordings (this format is more resilient against video file corruption in case of unexpected power outages).
- Configure the codecs appropriately to avoid generating excessively large video files (larger than 1 GB).
Example of recommended settings for OBS 28:
- In Settings - Output, set Output Mode to Advanced
- In the Recording tab, under Encoder Settings, configure: Rate Control – VBR, Bitrate - 500 Kbps, CPU Usage Preset - medium
- In Settings - Video, change Common FPS Values to 10 (very important, this significantly reduces the generated file size)
